Olvan - Cobert Puigcercós
DESCRIPTION: .... Excellent!!!. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful sections of the Camino de Montserrat to Núria. We start in Olvan where we already find pastures and herds of cows and the first pre-Pyrenean pines. This first part is uphill, but it does not have a big difference in altitude, so you can do it without getting too tired while enjoying the views. At one point in this section we will see for the last time if the weather permits, the mountain of Montserrat, from where we came. In this first part the route runs along a wide track, we will only find a little road to reach Sant Maurici de la Quar, which if we want we can also avoid by taking the GR that runs parallel but is a bit lost, or was. Until the Riera de Merlès we will walk along a dirt track downhill through the middle of Scots pine forests that will give us shade and privacy. The Riera de Vilardell is worth highlighting if the water is low. In the second part from Riera de Merlès, we will no longer have a dirt track and it will be a very local "road" that is not even catalogued by the DGT, which was previously a dirt track that allowed us to reach the campsites of Riera de Merlès and Puigcercós. Although there are not many vehicles passing through, you have to be careful. From El Cobert de Puigcercós we will go again on a dirt track and an area restricted to the passage of vehicles to the Refugi del Cobert where we can stay.
It is a very mountainous stretch so there is no means of transport.
