DESCRIPTION: A very short stretch of route but full of charm that runs alongside the medieval canal of the Sèquia de Manresa.
Leaving Sallent from Casa Torres Amat or continuing the path of the previous section at the height of "La Rampinya" we will enjoy a path that will make us walk in a row practically until we reach Balsareny. We may not be able to "chat" with our companions, but we will do some personal introspection by the side of the canal water that attracts us with its gentle splashing.
This impressive work of 26 km in length and with a difference in altitude of 10 meters. leaves us "stunned" when we think that it began in 1339 and was finished in 1383 almost 50 years later. This 14th century engineering work is a true marvel that must be preserved and cared for, so we recommend that all walkers take care of their step and take care of their surroundings.
The Conangle aqueduct is another of the wonders, if not for its beauty, then for its difficulty given the time it was built.
We will arrive at the Font de Sant Roc in the lower part of the village of Balsareny. The canal will continue along the Llobregat River, remember that it starts in one of the meanders at the height of the Balsareny Castle, and our path will continue along the Pont de Sta. Maria, climbing up towards the right side of the bridge of the old railway from Manresa to Berga. If we want to stop in Balsareny, we will not have to cross the bridge, because on the left there is a path that goes up to the Pont del Tren, passes under it and comes out on Carrer de les Escoles de Balsareny, we would start the next section at this same railway bridge.
