Castellgali - Manresa
DESCRIPTION: It is a very easy stretch to walk as there are no major elevation changes and it can be complemented with the first stretch from Montserrat to Castellgalí. It is indicated as the Ignatian Way.
The exit from Castellgalí is along a path with a slightly steep descent, free of risk. When you reach the C55 road, go along the shoulder through an area designated for pedestrians until you reach a few meters further on the dirt track, very wide, which will take us towards Mas Cornet and Mas d'Oller.
This entire area is very flat and with lots of vineyards, a grove of trees from time to time and a fairly wide path.
We crossed the Rajadell stream, I don't know what the crossing is like, there was a bridge but I've read comments that if a lot of water came down it would cover it, let's hope it rains.
From here the path is narrower, flatter, but it is no longer a wide track, until you reach the Torre de Santa Caterina (an old circular fortification built in 1836 during the first Carlist war). Enjoy the views of Manresa that are worth it. Then you go down a steeper path, but without any problem for a walker. We will reach the bridge that crosses the RENFE tracks and we will go to find the Pont Vell de Manresa to climb up to the Cova de Sant Ignasi.
